Responsibilities: • Conduct 1:1 applied behavior analysis sessions in our new clinic (and occasionally in the home or community setting) based on individualized treatment plans (ISPs) created by BCBAs. • Utilize the provided iPad for data collection to track and assess the effectiveness of treatment plans. • Document progress on treatment goals through daily written session notes. • Collaborate with the supervising BCBA to review progress and address any barriers that the client or technician may be facing during the session. • Establish and maintain professional relationships with both families and staff at A Better Day ABA, PLC. • Protect client confidentiality and service rights. • Provide and/or receive information from other staff members regarding client preferences, progress, and clinical observations, respectfully and concisely. • Assist with toileting, feeding skills, and adaptive skills. Qualifications: • To apply for the position of Behavior Technician in Williamsburg, VA, US, candidates must possess a high school diploma. • Reliable transportation is required to commute to the clinic and/or the client's home. • Applicants should be capable of lifting up to 50lbs, bending, sitting on the floor, and engaging in active play. • Completion of a 40-hour RBT training program before joining our team is mandatory, and we can guide applicants on how to obtain this training. • Availability to work our afternoon shift (12:30-4:00), 5 Days a Week. • There is usually the opportunity to work full-time (30-40 hours) after initial onboarding and training. • Flexibility and teamwork are essential skills during sessions. • Candidates must demonstrate enthusiasm, motivation, and commitment to working with children with special needs. • Creativity, imagination, and a sense of humor are helpful characteristics. • Understanding that a technician needs to BE the fun for the client, but the session is built around the client's interests. • Supportive and aware of the sensory needs of each client. • Willingness, if not a need, to learn more and do better every day.
