Are you ready to launch your career in the dynamic world of equipment maintenance? Join our energetic Maintenance Department as a Mechanical Equipment Maintenance Assistant! In this essential role, you will ensure that our production and manufacturing machinery operates at peak performance. This position offers hands-on experience in assisting with repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks while following established preventative maintenance protocols. In this role, you'll work in bustling environments that may involve exposure to heat, noise, gases, and chemicals. Be prepared to stay active with frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, and bending. Weekend and holiday shifts may be required, offering an exciting opportunity for those eager to learn and grow. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Assist with preventative maintenance on a variety of production equipment. Support machinery repairs as needed. Contribute to general housekeeping and maintenance tasks. Collaborate effectively under the guidance of an experienced mechanic. Accurately document your tasks and work schedule. Please note: As an Equipment Maintenance Assistant, you will always work alongside another mechanic and will not operate equipment independently. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years old. Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Mechatronics or a similar Industrial Maintenance program (within the last 6 months). If you are still a student, you must be on track to complete your program within 6 months from your application date. Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English to meet safety requirements. Experience in reading product manuals for repair assistance. Familiarity with mechanical setups including lubrication, sprockets, belts, and chains. Knowledge of troubleshooting and diagnostic problem-solving techniques. Proficient in using machine shop tools, including hydraulic press, drill press, and various hand tools. HELPFUL EXPERIENCE: Understanding of mechanical systems such as gearboxes, chains, seals, and bearings. Experience with basic electrical systems (starters, fuses, contacts, relays, motors). Familiar with conveyor and Airveyor systems (air cylinders, diverters, sensors, motor/speed controls). Experience with hydraulic systems (high pressure cylinders, pumps, valves). Knowledge of pneumatic systems (solenoids, cylinders, motor brakes). Experience implementing preventative maintenance programs. Able to thrive in collaborative team settings.
