Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a dynamic emergency department setting within a regional healthcare facility in the Midwest. This role emphasizes best practices, relationship-based care, and adherence to professional nursing standards. Essential Responsibilities: Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term patient care needs. Apply specialized clinical knowledge to deliver high-quality care, making patient assignments based on acuity and technical requirements. Engage in continuous learning and apply evidence-based practices to enhance workplace performance and patient outcomes. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, fostering respectful and empathetic relationships with patients, families, healthcare providers, and colleagues. Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their educational programs. Prioritize patient and workplace safety by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA regulations, and organizational policies. Participate actively in professional development opportunities, including certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership programs. Promote teamwork by motivating and guiding colleagues, encouraging collaboration, and providing constructive feedback. Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent experience with at least five years of acute care nursing if from a non-accredited program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable. Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, and PALS. Licensure and Certifications: Active Registered Nurse license as required by the regional nursing board. Work Shift: Second shift, full-time (36 hours per week).
