Job Description Join Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's (OCI) architecture development engineering team as a Senior Principal Software Engineer. We are at the forefront of building the next generation of cloud infrastructure and distributed systems. In this role, you will engage in evaluating, prototyping, and optimizing cutting-edge distributed systems and cloud platforms. You will play a critical role in defining, designing, and implementing large-scale, high-performance cloud services. Collaborating closely with hardware, software development teams, and internal and external partners, you will help shape Oracle's cloud platform solution space and drive innovation in our cloud infrastructure solutions. Get ready to work with the latest distributed systems architectures, benchmark their performance, and collaborate with software engineers to ensure tight integration of new platform features. Your contributions will directly impact the future of highly available, scalable, and performant cloud platforms for a diverse range of workloads. Responsibilities Evaluate system architecture and analyze proposed implementation paths. Collaborate directly with hardware, architecture, and software development teams on system architecture, implementation, development, deployment, and troubleshooting. Partner with wider Oracle engineering and operations functional groups and external partners. Conduct comprehensive benchmarking and performance analysis of distributed system components from various vendors. Compare and contrast new solutions in infrastructure and distributed systems with industry-standard platforms. Develop tools and processes for evaluating the performance of system components in real-world applications. Contribute to the design and enhancement of performance optimization algorithms for distributed systems. Qualifications BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 10+ years of experience in software development, including building and operating large-scale, highly distributed systems. Proficient in coding with Java, GoLang, C#, or similar object-oriented languages. Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture, performance optimization, and benchmarking techniques. Experience in the architecture, design, and implementation of modern server platforms (across multiple architectures, including x86 and ARM). Proven ability to debug complex issues spanning software and hardware components. Hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and leading large-scale cloud services on public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle). Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, ownership mindset, and leadership capability. Salary Range and Benefits Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
