Translators and Reviewers, Localization Group (Volunteer) The Translation Commons Localization Group is looking for remote volunteerTranslators and Reviewers to help us translate and review texts for our current project: ITD2024 - Proceeding. Translators and reviewers will be working with texts and documents that are helping Indigenous communities make their language and script digital. This is a great opportunity for you to contribute to an international volunteer organization. This role will also give you the opportunity to share your knowledge with less experienced volunteers. If chosen for this role, your name will be placed on the list of contributors of the translated documents alongside other professionals. This is a volunteer and remote opportunity. General qualifications: Native speaker of the target language; Ability to commit to translating at least 500 words per week; Experience in editorial translation preferred. Language pairs needed: English - Japanese Translators (1-2 years of experience) Reviewers (2+ years of experience) Responsibilities include: Learning how to work in Smartcat, the translation management system utilized for the project; Joining meetings with other project members to resolve issues and gauge progress; For Translators - Translating the segment(s) of the source material assigned to you by the project manager into the target language in accordance with the language resources (termbase, style guide, if applicable); For Reviewers - Reviewing translations in the target language against the source language content and correcting any errors related to translation quality, consistency throughout the whole document, and adherence to the language resources and project objectives.
