Overview GCG Connectivity & Power Solutions (CPS) is on the lookout for a Senior Procurement Specialist who will play a crucial role in driving customer-centric engineered solutions through strategic sourcing. This key individual contributor will work closely with product management, quality assurance, and commercial teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet the diverse needs of industries across North America. In this role, you will take full ownership of procurement activities for engineered solutions, foster vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with AS9100 quality standards. As a valued partner, you will leverage your sourcing expertise, analytical abilities, and hands-on project management to keep initiatives on track and elevate customer satisfaction. This position allows for remote work with occasional travel for site visits to corporate and supplier locations. Candidates based in the Eastern and Central Time Zones are preferred to align with the procurement team schedule. What You'll Do Lead sourcing initiatives for bespoke solutions, ensuring adherence to quality and documentation standards (AS9100, FAIR, PPAP). Devise and implement sourcing strategies that mirror customer specifications and financial goals. Establish and nurture robust supplier partnerships through regular evaluations and continuous improvement efforts. Coordinate supply and demand to align materials with customer expectations. Manage and communicate project timelines, deliverables, and risks effectively among procurement, product management, quality, and sales teams. Assist in the onboarding and approval processes for new suppliers and products. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supplier performance, costs, and project milestones. Oversee the internal cost forecasting process for transparency in pricing, lead times, and financial implications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle supply challenges, enhance data accuracy, and boost procurement efficiency. Travel as required (up to 10%) for relationship-building and business evaluations at supplier and partner sites. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, ideally within distribution or contract manufacturing. Demonstrated capability to manage complex sourcing projects and communicate effectively across departments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to ownership and follow-through. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems (Oracle, Rubicon, or similar). Familiarity with AS9100 standards and first article production processes (FAIR/PPAP) preferred. Experience interpreting 2D drawings in a technical manufacturing environment is advantageous. Background in wire harnessing, custom assemblies, or engineered electrical solutions is a plus.
