Entry-Level Maintenance Technician | Job Overview As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining an exceptional apartment community. In this entry-level position, you will be responsible for daily upkeep, including keeping the grounds and amenities clean while learning the essentials of property maintenance. This role is ideal for those looking to start a hands-on career in property maintenance while gaining valuable experience and training in the field. Entry-Level Maintenance Technician | Education, Experience, and License Qualifications Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent. Experience: Basic understanding of yard work and general facility maintenance; one year of maintenance, repair, or HVAC experience is preferred, but not required. Licenses & Certifications: Valid Driver's License. Entry-Level Maintenance Technician | Responsibilities Ground Responsibilities Conduct thorough cleaning and debris removal throughout the property in accordance with company standards. Maintain the cleanliness of breezeways and sidewalks, including pressure washing; ensure community trash receptacles are clean and well-kept. Perform cleaning tasks in common areas, including the mailroom, pool area, fitness area, laundry room, and clubhouse. This includes trash removal, replacing trash bags, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows and doors, and maintaining coffee machines and paper products. Repair & Preventative Maintenance Assist in preparing vacant apartments for new residents by performing light repairs and restoring them to a move-in ready status. Conduct light checks around the community, replacing breezeway light bulbs as necessary. Support the maintenance team with tasks like lock changes and fixture replacements. Perform light painting on curbs, signposts, and other necessary areas. Maintain the appearance of the shop to enable quick inventory assessments. Additional Responsibilities Help distribute communications to residents' doors and assist with pool maintenance. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop. Foster positive professional relationships with residents, co-workers, and company staff, always displaying a friendly and courteous attitude. What Makes Someone Thrive in This Role? Work Schedule & Availability Maintenance Technicians work Monday through Friday, generally from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additional participation in an on-call rotation for afterhours emergencies may be required, along with occasional support for resident events.
