EQUIPMENT SERVICE SPECIALIST (PART TIME)

THE POSITION Under general supervision, the Equipment Services Specialist performs preventative and semi-skilled work such as: maintenance, repair, and overhaul of a variety of automotive and mechanical equipment repairs or replaces conventional, medium duty tires tests and repairs starting and charging systems recharge batteries inspection of motorized and mechanical equipment performs preventative maintenance for all equipment and performs related duties as required This is a part-time, at-will, non-benefited position that reports to the Equipment Mechanic. QUALIFICATION GUIDELINESEDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE Education:Any combination of experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be: Graduation from High School or GED supplemented by mechanical trade courses Experience: One year of preventative maintenance experience with automotive and power driven equipment required Prior experience with a Fleet Management Software is highly desirable Licenses Requirements:Possession of, a valid California Class C Motor Vehicle Operator's License is required at time of appointment. Knowledge of:Tools, equipment, techniques, and procedures used in the maintenance, repair and adjustment of automotive, construction, 2 cycle and other heavy equipment; lubricating oils and greases. Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform preventative maintenance, make basic mechanical repairs, and to assist in the more difficult repairs of a wide variety of automotive and power driven equipment; skills in troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing the more routine faulty operating and mechanical troubles; ability to keep accurate records and assist in preparing reports on the preventative maintenance program; follow oral and written instructions; use independent judgment in recognizing and resolving problems dealing with the preventative maintenance program; ability to read and comprehend automotive and equipment maintenance and repair manuals. Physical Effort:Performs tasks requiring physical effort including bending, stooping, and heavy lifting.
