What You'll Be Doing Implement robust hardware security measures for government and contracted personnel, with a focus on security controls, configuration management, and microelectronic security assessments. Drive advancements in hardware security research and development to protect National Security Space Systems. Identify and assess potential security threats while providing strategic guidance for mitigating risks in FPGA/ASIC/embedded systems. Efficiently diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve a range of hardware and firmware issues. Contribute to the enhancement of microelectronics assurance policies, requirements, and associated documentation. Collaborate with a variety of departments and external partners to create innovative technical demonstrations and capabilities. Engage in continuous professional development through new learning opportunities, training, and mentorship from experienced professionals. What You Need to Be Successful Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline. 1-3 years of pertinent experience in FPGA design and verification, embedded systems, or hardware security. Hands-on experience with FPGA design and proficiency in HDLs such as VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog. Strong coding and scripting skills in C, C++, Python, Perl, or Shell. Practical experience working in Linux environments. Willingness to travel domestically up to 15% of the time. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain security clearance. Senior Level Requirements 4 or more years of significant experience in FPGA design, verification, and embedded systems. Proficient in using FPGA vendor tools from leading providers such as AMD Xilinx, Microchip, or Intel Altera. Experience in embedded system design, including Xilinx Zynq/Microblaze, ARM, or Altera NIOS. Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira or MS Project. How You Can Stand Out Possess an advanced degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM area. Understanding of hardware security threats, including Hardware Trojans, Side Channel Analysis, and Reverse Engineering. Experience with Root of Trust, Secure Boot, or Hardware Cryptographic Accelerators. Hold industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+. Knowledge of artificial intelligence or quantum computing applications. Current active TS/SCI security clearance.
