Zurich is seeking a talented Excess Casualty Underwriting Expert to join our dynamic Construction team. This position offers flexibility with a hybrid work schedule based in our Atlanta, GA or Addison, TX office. You'll have opportunities to meet with agents and brokers, ensuring a strong presence in the marketplace. If you have a background in Excess Casualty and/or Construction, we want to hear from you! In this Market Facing Underwriting position, you can expect the following: Develop and nurture relationships with broker partners and clients within the Construction industry to advance business goals. Utilize your casualty underwriting expertise for risk assessment, exposure evaluation, and pricing to build and sustain a profitable portfolio of new and renewal business. Collaborate with various business units including claims, finance, risk engineering, and technical underwriting to gain extensive industry knowledge. Employ your negotiation and interpersonal skills to strengthen relationships with key distribution partners in your assigned territory. Key Responsibilities: Underwrite and price a robust renewal book. Identify and evaluate new growth opportunities. Ensure accounts align with organizational standards and present viable business opportunities. Conduct agent/broker/customer meetings with a strategic and well-prepared approach. Oversee negotiations of Terms & Conditions to finalize agreements. Drive cross-selling initiatives to enhance product density within your client portfolio. This role may be filled as either an Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate designation based on the applicant's experience and skills. Basic Qualifications for Underwriting Specialist: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing roles OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 1+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 4+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support AND Knowledge of various lines of business, legal, and regulatory guidelines. Familiarity with quote timelines for new and renewal business. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Basic Qualifications for Executive Underwriter: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing roles OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 3+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 8+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support AND In-depth knowledge of business lines and regulatory frameworks. Adeptness with time constraints for quotes. Experience using Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree. Strong verbal and written communication capabilities. Your compensation at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience, and adheres to local laws ensuring equitable pay. You may also qualify for bonuses and merit increases. Underwriting Specialists can expect $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 with a 10% short-term incentive bonus. Executive Underwriters for Excess Casualty may earn between $98,500.00 - $165,000.00 with a 15% short-term incentive bonus.
