Senior Financial Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will analyze historical and present financial data, along with forecasting future revenues and expenditures. Your contributions will be essential in guiding our financial decisions and actions. This position requires strong communication skills and collaborative efforts with various teams. Develop detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts that provide insights at both project and organizational levels. Maintain ongoing forecasts and quarterly outlooks for significant programs, typically exceeding $10 million in revenue, or smaller programs accumulating over $10 million. Calculate the costs associated with large and complex program operations by establishing standard costs and collecting relevant operational data. Analyze and compare actual results against planned budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and areas for improvement. Prepare comprehensive reports for monthly and quarterly reviews, summarizing financial performance. Manage monthly subcontractor accruals and assist with the reconciliation of accruals as needed. Collaborate with project managers and corporate finance teams to pinpoint and resolve program finance challenges, providing guidance on project performance. Analyze accounting and labor data to drive effective forecasting and reporting. Support program teams in meeting financial reporting requirements for corporate standards. Provide recommendations based on data analysis, comparative assessments, and evaluations of proposed changes in methods and materials. Review program-related accounts payable/receivable invoices for accuracy and compliance. Create engaging presentation slide decks to report on program financial performance. Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development. Complete various special finance projects as assigned by leadership. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5-10 years of experience in Finance or Accounting. Desired Skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Advanced knowledge of accrual accounting principles. In-depth understanding of US GAAP. Experience with Costpoint and Cognos software is preferred. 3+ years of experience in government contracting and finance/public accounting is a plus. Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in fast-paced environments. Solid grasp of financial planning and strategic analysis. Expertise in revenue recognition and requirements analysis. Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
