Quality Inspector for Highway and Bridge Construction

Key Responsibilities: Review and interpret construction plans, schedules, and quantities to ensure project compliance. Conduct field measurements for accurate documentation of pay items. Perform various material sampling and testing to uphold quality standards. Ensure safe work practices while following project plans and specifications. Work collaboratively with inspection teams on a variety of construction tasks including surveying, utility coordination, traffic control monitoring, erosion control inspections, and material sampling/testing. Qualifications: High School Diploma required; an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology preferred. At least 2 years of road and/or bridge construction inspection and testing experience (or a mix of education, training, and experience). Ability to obtain the following NCDOT certifications within 3 months: Concrete Field Technician Conventional (Soil) Density Technician QMS Roadway (Asphalt) Technician Level II Erosion & Sediment Control Proficient in computing field data and interpreting construction plans. Familiarity with construction inspection principles and testing methods. Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting. Physical capability to perform tasks including bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing, and navigating rugged terrain. Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
