The Branch Manager is a high-impact sales leader responsible for driving new business growth and expanding market share within the HVAC industry. This role is focused on building contractor relationships, developing strategic sales initiatives, and leading branch performance to achieve aggressive revenue and profitability goals. In addition to overseeing daily operations, the Branch Manager will take an active, hands-on role in customer acquisition, key account development, and positioning the branch as a top provider in the local HVAC market. Success in this position requires a strong combination of sales leadership, business development expertise, and operational execution. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development: Establish performance expectations, conduct reviews, and provide ongoing training and development. Recruit and hire qualified candidates while providing ongoing training to develop employees for future growth. Create and maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and complying with regulatory standards. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Customer Experience & Sales Growth: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while aggressively pursuing new business opportunities in light commercial and residential HVAC markets Partner with Outside Sales and Territory Managers to identify customer needs, develop sales programs, and transition new accounts smoothly. Build and maintain strong customer relationships, striving to understand their business needs and purchasing behaviors. Maintain a clean, well-merchandised showroom and ensure the overall facility contributes to sales goals. Operational & Financial Management: Establish branch sales, profitability, and growth goals in partnership with ownership. Manage inventory accuracy, security, and product availability while optimizing stock turns. Oversee warehouse and delivery operations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in order fulfillment. Provide regular updates to leadership regarding branch performance, challenges, and opportunities. Ensure pricing strategies meet margin and profitability targets. What we're looking for: 3-5+ years of experience in HVAC sales, branch operations, or business development. A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required. A college business degree is preferred, but not required for this role. Prior leadership or management experience in a wholesale or distribution environment preferred. Knowledge of human resource management, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluation. Ability to plan, delegate, and oversee daily branch activities while fostering open communication. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and business success. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with employees, customers, and company leadership. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional tact and diplomacy when handling business matters. Understanding of financial operations, including budgeting, profit and loss management, and cost control; Knowledge of sales and marketing techniques to drive branch revenue. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; ability to learn and use company computer systems. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and follow-through skills. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly (with occasional heavier lifts using equipment).
