Part-Time Optometric Technician and Medical Assistant

Job Description What you will do - Key Responsibilities Provide exceptional care to patients to enhance their experience. Maintain a professional and welcoming atmosphere in the doctor's office and pretest room. Understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations. Effectively explain preliminary examination procedures to patients. Complete necessary paperwork and perform pre-examination testing on patients. Encourage eligible patients to participate in visual field testing and retinal screenings. Conduct exam pre-screening tasks accurately. Review prescriptions and patient information carefully, identifying unique needs, and consulting with opticians or doctors as necessary. Fill out referral forms and follow-up paperwork as needed. Maintain accurate and organized patient records. Ensure proper maintenance of both doctor's and pre-test equipment. Order and manage supplies and pharmaceuticals as instructed. Adhere to all store and corporate policies and procedures. Participate in mandatory communication meetings to stay updated on corporate policies and initiatives. Are you the right fit? - Qualifications Previous retail or optical experience is a plus, but not necessary. Strong customer service skills are essential. Willingness to learn about optical knowledge. Able to convey information clearly and concisely to customers. Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Adept at multitasking and managing time efficiently.
