Join our team as a Payroll Tax Manager, a pivotal role responsible for leading a dynamic team dedicated to ensuring payroll tax compliance and accuracy across our organization. This position is instrumental in supporting our HR Services Leader and demands a seasoned professional with deep expertise in managing payroll tax processes, including filings and audits. We are looking for an adept leader who brings structure, ownership, and clear communication to a fast-paced environment where payroll accuracy significantly influences business operations. In this role, you will drive accountability and coordination across payroll and multiple system teams while ensuring our processes are efficient and compliant. You will collaborate closely with the North American Payroll Manager, along with teams from Corporate Tax, Legal, and Accounting Operations, to improve our payroll tax functions. Key Responsibilities: Oversee timely payment of Federal, State, local, and Provincial taxes, maintaining updated Powers of Attorney and ensuring accurate registrations by business line. Coordinate comprehensive audits from Federal, state, or local entities, collaborating with the corporate tax and legal teams as needed. Provide actionable metrics and dashboards that reflect tax payment allocations, fines, audit reports, and other essential employment tax metrics. Work in tandem with the accounting team to accurately allocate tax payments to the General Ledger. Lead, mentor, and offer constructive feedback to team members to enhance individual and overall team performance. Make real-time decisions on various operational matters, including time-off approvals and project planning. Monitor workloads and resources to ensure goals are met consistently. Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures and business processes are current, and that training is provided to the teams to reinforce compliance and procedures. Manage ServiceNow cases, providing direction and final approvals on complex issues. Act as an escalation point for complex scenarios or special handling requirements. Foster and manage relationships with internal partners and external vendors. Oversee any system changes and enhancements in collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders. Drive operational efficiency by leveraging internal partners and key vendors. Collaborate with internal HR Services departments and other Marsh Centers of Excellence to ensure seamless service delivery. Support current and future operational changes related to HR Services. Qualifications: A minimum of 3 years of payroll tax experience. Preferred Qualifications: Strong background in payroll tax compliance and remittances. Experience interacting directly with tax agencies. Proven track record of managing audits effectively. Established ability to design or optimize processes for efficiency. Strong technical knowledge in payroll tax regulations. Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) is strongly preferred. Experience in environments with evolving or immature processes.
