Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) to lead and inspire nursing staff in delivering exceptional, safe, and high-quality patient care. This role requires a dynamic leader who serves as a mentor, resource, and advocate while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence within the patient care unit. Key Responsibilities Maintain a safe, clean, and infection-controlled environment within the unit. Engage with patients and families to uphold service excellence and address concerns promptly. Communicate professionally and effectively, resolving conflicts as they arise. Participate in policy development and promote evidence-based nursing practices. Ensure accountability for quality, operational, financial, and regulatory goals. Advocate for patients by coordinating care across healthcare disciplines. Collaborate with departments to optimize workflow and patient throughput. Assist in recruitment, selection, and retention of nursing personnel. Manage staffing schedules, ensuring appropriate personnel utilization based on competencies and patient needs. Lead or participate in quality improvement projects and attend relevant committees. Evaluate staff performance, provide coaching, and conduct appraisals. Contribute to budget development and monitor productivity standards. Promote a healthy work environment that minimizes occupational illness and injury. Demonstrate accountability for personal professional growth. Perform administrative duties such as pronouncing expired patients and fulfilling supervisory roles as needed. Qualifications Minimum five years of Registered Nurse experience, including at least two years in acute care or a similar setting. At least one year of recent charge nurse or supervisory experience. Strong knowledge of nursing scope of practice and individualized patient care planning. Ability to independently seek resources and collaborate effectively. Competent in assessing nursing needs of acute and chronically ill patients and their families. Proficient with computer systems and adaptable to new software. Capable of providing direct patient care. Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with seven years of RN experience may be considered. Licenses and Certifications Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required. National certification in specialty area preferred. Specialty Certifications Chemotherapy and biotherapy provider certification required within six months for oncology and progressive care units. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and NIH Stroke Scale certification required for monitored medical, telemetry, ICU, emergency, PACU, cardiac cath lab, and interventional radiology units. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) required for emergency department staff. Additional certifications such as MICN preferred for emergency department roles. Additional Information All candidates must successfully complete a physical evaluation, drug screening, and background checks prior to employment.
