Role Overview: Responsibilities: Our federal Tax Controversy and Resolutions group is seeking a skilled manager to guide clients through the complexities of federal tax issues. You will focus on federal tax practice and procedure matters, including IRS notice resolution, information reporting and withholding, and handling IRS examinations and appeals. Qualifications: Active CPA or JD is required. Experience with the IRS or the IRS Office of Chief Counsel is a plus, though not mandatory. A minimum of 3 years of federal tax experience is essential; 4 or more years is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex tax information clearly. Outstanding client service skills and an ability to nurture and maintain robust client relationships. Exceptional Candidates Will Display: Strong technical tax and research skills in federal taxation, coupled with exceptional written communication. Ability to recognize value-added opportunities and collaborate to develop business strategies. Proven leadership and project management capabilities, successfully managing client service teams and various projects in a fast-paced environment. Analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. A capacity to mentor and develop junior staff, providing on-the-job training and coaching. A commitment to driving personal and team development, providing valuable insights to leadership. An openness to engage with technology-enhanced tools and lead initiatives to deploy technology in meeting market demands and enhancing client services.
