Description: Wright Manufacturing, Inc. (WMI), an award-winning producer of commercial grade lawn equipment, is seeking an experienced Supervisor to lead our Assembly Department on the evening shift due to our impressive growth. The evening shift hours are approximately 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM, with additional hours as needed based on production targets. As a key member of our management team, this position reports to the Area Manager and is responsible for leading, directing, and coordinating the operations of employees. Your focus will include ensuring and improving safety, quality, productivity, and team relations through Lean principles and company directives. Salary: $60K+ annually Primary Responsibilities: Foster a supportive and collaborative team environment focused on communication, respect, and consistency. Supervise team leaders and team members, providing guidance and motivation to enhance safety, quality, and productivity. Maintain manufacturing targets and lead operations in your assigned area. Communicate effectively with other Group Leaders and stakeholders to address and resolve issues as needed. Ensure accountability among Area Team Leaders regarding their responsibilities. Train and coach team members to uphold safety and quality standards, improving job performance through best practices. Assist in developing standardized work procedures, ensuring best practices are documented clearly. Conduct performance reviews for team members, recommending promotions and pay adjustments where appropriate. Monitor and review team performance, implementing corrective or celebratory actions as necessary. Maintain accurate documentation of production records. Investigate team complaints, working towards effective resolutions. Ensure company policies and procedures are followed diligently, taking corrective steps as required. Oversee daily shift meetings to foster communication and team cohesion. Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to address and resolve issues efficiently within your area of influence. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities and coaching team members. Monitor quality on the production line, addressing issues proactively at the source. Respond to action items or escalate issues to the Area Manager or Production Manager when necessary. Requirements: Proven supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read, understand, and apply manufacturing documentation. Competence in managing processes to meet expectations and adhere to policies. Skill in collaborating with other managers to address skill and behavior gaps. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and formal problem-solving techniques. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and ERP/MRP systems. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; bilingual candidates are a plus. Successful candidates should also demonstrate: Active listening and interpersonal skills. Adaptability to fast-paced environments. The ability to coach and counsel team members effectively when addressing gaps in skills or behavior. High attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
