JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Design and oversee the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to job specifications and local regulations. Perform electrical quantity takeoffs from technical drawings. Ensure all materials are installed in compliance with project plans and specifications. Organize and delegate tasks to electrical staff, maintaining project timelines and schedules. Ensure adherence to the National Electric Code in all project work. Inspect, commission, and test electrical system components, including transformers, transfer switches, and switchgear. Utilize blueprints, single-line diagrams, and manufacturer manuals to execute assigned projects efficiently. Prepare floor plan layouts or reference blueprints to determine equipment placement, ensuring compliance with building and safety codes. Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduits, junction boxes, switches, outlet boxes, and switchboards using specialized hand tools and equipment. Survey and troubleshoot complex electrical systems effectively. Prepare material quantity estimates based on engineered drawings. JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Extensive knowledge of construction and electrical installation standards, practices, and procedures. Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes and their integration into work assignments. Familiarity with standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment in the electrical field. Awareness of occupational hazards in electrical work and safety standards that must be followed. Proficient in using tools of the electrical trade. Adept at diagnosing causes of electrical failures. Skilled in repairing and adjusting electrical devices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, maintenance manuals, and installation instructions. Capable of learning and adapting to new technology. Proficient in applying electrical mathematical formulas for power and voltage drop. Ability to work from heights, including ladders and hydraulic lifts. Physical stamina to stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders up to 25 feet or work on lifts up to 40 feet. Must be able to lift or carry loads up to 50 pounds. EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Must hold a valid electrician license and maintain it. A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrical Superintendent is required. OSHA 30 Certification is preferred. Must successfully pass pre-employment testing, including drug and background checks, and possess a valid driver's license. Willingness to travel out of town 100% of the time.
