Job Description Join our innovative team as a Senior Technical Staff Engineer, where you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our advanced CDA platform that harnesses the power of generative AI and cloud-native technologies. Your extensive knowledge in data platform engineering will contribute to the development of a smart and resilient system that enhances the healthcare experience for patients and clinicians alike. Responsibilities: Take charge of designing and implementing the CDA data platform, ensuring scalability, security, and optimization for AI-driven applications. Work closely with the CDA team, collaborating with AI researchers, software developers, and healthcare domain experts to define and enhance the platform's architecture. Develop and sustain the backend infrastructure with a focus on data ingestion, storage, processing, and retrieval systems. Design data models and databases to accommodate intricate healthcare data structures and relationships. Integrate search technologies and natural language processing (NLP) features to enable conversational and semantic search, as well as summarization capabilities. Create and optimize data pipelines utilizing ETL/ELT processes and tools such as Kafka, Flink, and RabbitMQ to ensure efficient data flow. Uphold data security and privacy standards by implementing access controls, encryption, and adhering to healthcare regulations. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, cultivating a culture of knowledge-sharing and technical excellence. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in cloud-native AI/ML technologies and advocate for innovative solutions that elevate the CDA platform. Qualifications: BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related field is required, showcasing a strong academic foundation. 6+ years of relevant software development experience, emphasizing backend and data-centric applications. Proficiency in Java, Python, or similar object-oriented languages to build robust backend systems. Solid software engineering principles, with a deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, RESTful services, and microservices architecture. Hands-on experience with cloud-native development across leading cloud platforms (OCI, Azure, GCP, AWS) is crucial. Thorough knowledge of data architecture, including database design, data modeling, analytics, metadata management, and data-access controls. Experience with Oracle Database and search technologies like Opensearch, Pinecone, and Oracle Golden Gate Replication. Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration tools such as Kafka, Flink, and RabbitMQ. Understanding of best practices in system design and distributed systems architecture. Basic knowledge of cloud engineering infrastructure and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker). Exceptional communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
