Join EFI Global as a Lead Fire Investigation Specialist! We are a premier engineering and investigative firm with over 40 years of experience in providing high-quality services to diverse industries. As a Lead Fire Investigation Specialist, you will independently conduct extensive and detailed investigations to determine the origin and cause of fires and explosions, primarily involving structures such as commercial buildings and residences. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough investigations on assigned claims suspected of insurance fraud, including large losses and multiple claims. Report findings to clients adhering to best practices and anticipate training needs based on customer exposure and anti-fraud initiatives. Provide expert testimony in depositions and trials regarding the origin and cause of fires, presenting findings clearly and concisely. Maintain confidentiality in all assigned claims files, documenting all relevant facts in the appropriate claims handling systems. Review investigation outcomes promptly and provide guidance to claims leadership on claims resolutions. Develop relationships with federal, state, local governmental agencies, and private bureaus to support investigative efforts. Identify and interview witnesses to gather information on the incident under investigation. Conduct thorough inspections of public records related to the investigation. Stay updated on laws regarding privacy and the availability of public records to ensure all investigations are conducted ethically. Guide and mentor team members in fire investigation practices. Additional Duties: Support organizational quality initiatives. Travel as necessary for investigations and client meetings. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. IAAI Certified Fire Investigator (IAAI-CFI) or Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator (CFEI) certification is required. Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in fire investigation or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills & Competencies: Exemplary oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other PC applications. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Exceptional interpersonal skills and analytical capabilities. Attention to detail with strong investigative skills. Able to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment. Commitment to meeting or exceeding performance competencies. Work Environment: Please be aware that we are committed to providing reasonable accommodations when appropriate. The role requires critical thinking and excellent judgment under pressure, as well as the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively while meeting deadlines. Physical requirements include standing/walking for extended periods, kneeling, squatting, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Candidates should be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds as needed, and be comfortable driving for extended periods.
