Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated Commercial Credit Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive credit investigations, analyze financial statements, and interpret essential credit information relating to Commercial Loan Requests and Loan Reviews. Your expertise will support management and Loan Committees in assessing risk and making informed decisions. Key Responsibilities: Investigate various sources of credit and financial data, including reporting services, credit bureaus, bank references, and internal records. Utilize financial analysis software to spread and evaluate financial statements and related materials. Prepare concise summaries and present findings on creditworthiness under supervision. Compile conclusions for Loan Presentations and Loan Reviews. Conduct competitive analysis within the market (customers, competition, suppliers, and potential new entrants) and evaluate management teams. Assist in special projects and reporting tasks in Credit Administration. Familiarize yourself with and uphold Bank/Credit policies and procedures. Provide data entry support for loan analysis systems to maintain accurate records. Stay informed about new and pending laws and regulations affecting credit practices. Contribute to the development of commercial credit policies and procedures that enhance Bank operations. Maintain reporting requirements for Bank customers' credit obligations. Recommend changes in risk grades based on thorough analysis. Complete Loan Reviews as directed by the Lead Loan Review Analyst or Credit Administration Manager. Qualifications and Skills: 1-3 years of experience in commercial credit and lending. A degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is preferred; other majors with a business minor will be considered. Ability to build trust and exercise diplomacy, requiring strong interpersonal skills. Familiarity with banking practices, particularly in commercial banking. High degree of analytical capability. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on confidentiality. Understanding of financial statements and tax returns for individuals and corporations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and financial statement spreading software. Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks. Physical Requirements: Ability to work on a computer for extended periods, which may involve eye strain. Capable of sitting for the majority of the workday. Focus and concentration in a sometimes distracting work environment. Ability to lift and move loan files weighing up to 15 lbs. Some travel required for consultations, training, and meetings.
