Earthworks Project Superintendent Independence Excavating is seeking an experienced Earthworks Project Superintendent to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee site work projects and manage the daily operations to ensure timely delivery and adherence to budget. You will assess project needs and compile cost estimates to inform project budgets effectively. Who is IX? A typical day looks like: Collaborating with the estimating department for pre-bid planning and leveraging field experience for upcoming projects. Assisting the Project Manager in developing and maintaining a detailed project schedule throughout the project lifecycle. Creating a detailed work sequence to maximize efficiency of work crews prior to mobilization. Interpreting and understanding project drawings and specifications accurately. Monitoring job production, resource utilization, and cost management to ensure projects remain profitable. Conducting project close-out activities, including punch list coordination, as-built drawings, O & M manuals, and final billing. Enforcing general and specific safety practices in alignment with company safety guidelines and collaborating proactively with safety representatives. Do you have what it takes? A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; additional construction certifications or training are preferred. 5+ years of relevant experience in a supervisory role is essential. Strong organizational skills to manage a variety of tasks efficiently. Ability to develop positive relationships with owners, project engineers, and local authorities. Proven capability to effectively manage union workforces. Excellent verbal communication skills for effective interaction with employees, vendors, owners, and contractors. Why IX?
