As a Clinical Pharmacist in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, you will play a critical role in medication management for our patients. You'll monitor and evaluate medication therapies, ensuring they are appropriate based on health status and institutional guidelines. Your expertise will also contribute to the education of both Pharmacy and Medical Residents while supporting healthcare providers. This position requires the effective communication of detailed information regarding medication therapies and a proactive approach to patient care, including medication reconciliation, monitoring, and patient education. Key Qualifications: Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency (or 3 years related specialty experience accepted in lieu). Preferred: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and completion of a PGY2 Pharmacy Residency. Certification: Current Pharmacy license in the state of practice. Essential Skills: Proficient computer skills for data entry and retrieval. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Effective leadership and teaching skills. Your Responsibilities Will Include: Providing pharmacokinetic consultations and using laboratory data to guide drug selection and dosing. Evaluating patient responses to therapies and documenting outcomes to improve clinical practices. Contributing to the development of clinical pathways and best practices. Educating medical staff, students, and healthcare providers on effective medication management. Mentoring residents and students to foster their growth and meet our departmental goals. Ensuring continuity of care for patients during all transitions. Volunteering for tasks during staffing shortages and adapting to the needs of various patient populations. The role may require you to handle medications and materials in a healthcare setting, which includes potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
