Job Title: Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager Work Location: Anchorage, AK (JBER) Salary: Competitive salary based on experience, to be discussed during the interview Requirements: Must be a US Citizen and pass a federal background review and drug screening. Key Responsibilities: Act as a technical expert and advisor for the management of civil and structural systems, including steel and welding applications on federal construction projects. Provide expert advisory, consulting, and review services for civil/structural system challenges or compliance issues. Conduct thorough reviews of contract documents, focusing on plans and specifications, to identify constructability issues, compliance concerns, and clarity needs. Engage in all phases of the contract modification process by preparing scope of work for RFPs, government estimates, and contractor proposal reviews, while documenting necessary modifications. Assist with inspections related to steel and welding, ensuring quality assurance and effective contract administration while leveraging your technical expertise. Review and analyze contractor plans and technical submissions, including progress schedules and quality control programs, offering detailed feedback and recommendations. Prepare formal correspondence regarding contractor performance and address Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and technical inquiries. Calculate and prepare both partial and final payment estimates, ensuring accuracy in pay item quantities and verification of materials. Demonstrate expertise in steel and connection design, along with compliance review during inspections and plan evaluations. Conduct non-destructive inspections (NDI) as part of your duties, ensuring adherence to industry standards. Maintain AISC certification and stay updated on industry best practices. Monitor construction schedules, documenting progress and advising project team members of potential delays or issues. Participate in the review and execution of RFIs and submittals, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to provide timely responses. Offer technical support regarding HEMP shielding and Radio Frequency (RF) Shielding in alignment with ICD 705 construction requirements. Log and maintain project data to facilitate informed decision-making processes. Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Civil Engineering. Current Professional Engineer license in Alaska. Minimum of 10 years of experience as a structural engineer on large-scale federal projects, especially those involving USACE and the Department of Defense. Experience in non-destructive inspection (NDI) and holding AISC certification. Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) Shielding and ICD 705 construction requirements. Knowledge of High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) design and construction standards is preferred. Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience.
