Exciting Incentives for New Officers Receive up to $20,000 in recruitment incentives upon successful training completion and placement in prioritized locations. Your Role and Responsibilities As a Border Patrol Officer, you will be crucial in safeguarding the American public. Your responsibilities will include: Identifying and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws. Apprehending undocumented individuals and smugglers through advanced surveillance operations. Conducting border patrols and monitoring waterways using various government vehicles. Performing thorough inspections at checkpoints. Employing technical equipment for monitoring and surveillance activities. Qualifications Needed To qualify for the GL-5 level, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: One year of general work experience showcasing decision-making and problem-solving skills. A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. A combination of relevant work experience and education. For those aiming for the GL-7 level, applicants should have one year of specialized law enforcement experience or a relevant bachelor's degree demonstrating superior academic achievement. Additional Requirements Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must meet residency requirements. Must be under the age of 40 at the time of selection unless exempt due to previous service. Must successfully complete a six-month training program at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, New Mexico.
