Our expected salary range is $127,800 to $142,000, depending on experience, complemented by an attractive benefits package. LOCATION This role operates in a hybrid model in the Mid-Atlantic region. Expect up to 30% travel to support projects in the area, with occasional trips to our Baltimore office, remote project sites, and other Constellation locations to foster collaboration and communication. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION As a Senior Project Development Specialist, you will take the lead in project development and collaborate with clients to deliver innovative energy solutions. Your expertise in building systems and project design will directly support our initiatives in energy efficiency and sustainability. This position bridges technical oversight with client engagement to effectively drive project objectives. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Act as the technical subject matter expert throughout the project development and sales process, focusing on mechanical designs, building systems interactions, and utility tariffs. Broaden project scopes by integrating energy efficiency, sustainability, and resiliency solutions. Work alongside the Business Development Manager and cross-functional teams to assess the technical and financial viability of project opportunities, providing expertise during customer pitches. Coordinate legal reviews of documentation and financing processes. Examine utility profiles and facility infrastructures to set the project direction and financial frameworks, developing precise financial pro formas. Conduct assessments of facilities and infrastructures to identify energy conservation measures (ECMs) and associated benefits. Lead cross-functional teams to ensure the timely completion of all project deliverables from qualification to contract award, negotiating pricing with subcontractors to meet project goals. Ensure effective management of project deliverables, budgets, and schedules, coordinating efforts to secure necessary approvals throughout the sales cycle. Perform quality control reviews of all project deliverables to guarantee accuracy and completeness. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8 years of project development or sales engineering experience in building infrastructure projects, or equivalent education and experience. Strong technical knowledge of building systems and their interactions. Experience in cost savings analysis and utilizing operational data for project valuation. Excellent technical writing abilities with strong financial acumen, capable of developing detailed project documentation. Superior communication and interpersonal skills to present complex solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proficiency in developing and fostering professional networks and business relationships. Experience in managing project teams and meeting deliverable goals. Ability to obtain required security clearances. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in developing energy efficiency projects under ESPC, EaaS, Utility Energy Savings Contract, or GSA Schedule 84 programs. Experience with cost estimating and building modeling software. Familiarity with RSMeans, eProject Builder, Trane TRACE, and Energy Star. Professional Engineering (PE) registration, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or LEED accreditation is preferred. Experience with federal projects is a plus. In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building automation control systems. TS/SCI or secret clearance is preferred.
