Job Description

Position Title: Nurse Manager - Trauma Care Unit & Trauma ICU Location: Austin, TX Shift: Full-time Job Summary: The Nurse Manager plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care by overseeing the daily operations and staffing of the Trauma Care Unit and Trauma ICU. This role involves monitoring and evaluating nursing care delivery, enforcing adherence to established policies and procedures, and maintaining accountability for quality and clinical outcomes to support facility objectives. Job Responsibilities: Implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes, ensuring adherence to standards of care. Support initiatives to reduce clinical practice variation and improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost. Ensure compliance with internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations. Maintain compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Oversee regular equipment maintenance according to regulatory and accreditation standards. Manage admissions and discharge processes to optimize patient-centered care and throughput efficiency. Facilitate interdisciplinary care coordination within and across departments. Assign staff with appropriate clinical competencies to meet patient care needs. Monitor and evaluate nursing care provision to ensure patient and family needs are met. Provide leadership in achieving and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience. Drive consistent, positive patient interactions that set the organization apart as a healthcare leader. Review feedback mechanisms to identify opportunities for improving patient satisfaction and implement strategies accordingly. Ensure compliance with evidence-based practices to enhance patient experience and customer service. Collaborate with subject matter experts and leaders to foster teamwork and improve outcomes and service. Uphold a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery as needed. Manage staff scheduling and maintain staffing levels according to patient care needs and productivity guidelines. Manage operating expenses, including supplies and equipment utilization, and identify cost reduction opportunities. Qualifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Salary: $130,000 yearly base salary Ideal Candidate: Previous experience in surgical, ICU, or ED settings preferred. Any experience in PCU/ICU/Surgical or step-down units is advantageous. Additional Information: This role is a working RN Manager overseeing the Trauma Care Unit and Trauma ICU. 40 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) staff. Level 2 trauma facility. Note: This position may be easily confused with a Trauma Program Manager role. It is a working RN Manager role.
