Position Overview: The Food and Beverage Equipment Technician is crucial to maintaining, repairing, and installing various food and beverage service equipment, ensuring their functionality, safety, and compliance with sanitation standards. You will troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance, as well as minor repairs in plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general building systems. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and independently repair a range of food and beverage equipment, resolving complex technical issues. Assist in the installation, programming, and calibration of food and beverage systems, including refrigeration and dispensing units. Lead small maintenance and repair projects, completing tasks efficiently according to company standards. Mentor entry-level technicians, providing guidance and on-the-job training to boost their skills. Collaborate with vendors and contractors for equipment repairs, ensuring adherence to company and industry standards. Manage inventory effectively, including stocking supplies and resolving discrepancies. Communicate effectively with store personnel, delivering excellent customer service and maintaining professionalism. Maintain accurate work order notes, ensuring you meet key performance indicators (KPI) for travel time, service level agreements (SLA), and efficiency. Follow safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations, and promptly report safety hazards. Perform other duties as assigned by management to support department objectives. Team Dynamics: Work collaboratively with department teammates while frequently communicating with other departments and external vendors. Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED Preferred Education: Trade License in refrigeration, plumbing, or electrical (where available) Experience Requirements: Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in equipment repair within food/beverage services or a related technical field. Preferred Experience: 5+ years with proven troubleshooting and repair skills. Licenses/Certifications: EPA Universal Essential Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills. Teamwork and collaboration abilities. Strong problem-solving skills. Adaptability in dynamic environments. Effective time management capabilities. Additional Requirements: Travel: Must be able to drive extended periods as needed; a company vehicle will be provided; maintain a clean driving record. Work Hours & Conditions: Monday to Friday, minimum of 40 hours with participation in an on-call rotation, including coverage on holidays. Physical Requirements: Ability to work safely in confined spaces as needed. Lifting requirements: regularly lift 10 pounds, frequently lift 25 pounds, occasionally lift up to 80 pounds with proper techniques. Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours daily. Perform physical tasks such as reaching overhead, bending, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements. Comfortable with varying temperatures in work environments.
