Description: The General Manager (GM) plays a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional shopping experience that captivates Guests with fast, friendly service, and a clean, well-stocked environment. You will lead all aspects of operations while striving to achieve performance targets, optimize financial results year-over-year, and provide delicious food and beverage offerings in a safe food environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead the safety culture by maintaining a clean, organized, and secure environment for Team Members and Guests. Create a welcoming atmosphere for all, ensuring everyone feels valued and included. Manage daily operations to execute the Store Operating System effectively, resulting in a consistent and memorable Guest experience. Enhance top-line P&L performance, managing key financial metrics, and correcting budget discrepancies efficiently. Ensure proper inventory management by accurately executing counts and placing orders to maintain stock levels. Delegate tasks effectively to Team Members, providing the necessary follow-up to guarantee completion. Champion company initiatives while leading the team towards shared goals. Oversee food production, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and maintaining optimal quality. Develop and train Team Members in alignment with Thorntons' training processes and uphold our core values. Support career growth for Team Members by providing guidance and setting high-performance standards through constructive coaching. Engage in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and scheduling to ensure effective shift coverage while adhering to break regulations. Empower Team Members to resolve guest service issues confidently and tactfully. Foster open communication with Team Members, promoting motivation and alignment with the Plan to Win strategy. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, maintaining accurate records and inspection certifications. Promote brand awareness and increase sales through active involvement in community partnerships and events. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team's goals. Employs analytical skills to address and resolve various business challenges. Utilizes basic arithmetic to effectively manage financial reporting and inventory. Prioritizes tasks effectively to achieve set objectives while maintaining high standards. Maintains a positive demeanor, especially in challenging situations. Recognizes and celebrates Team Member achievements and addresses performance issues constructively. Takes proactive measures to eliminate obstacles and resolve potential issues. Provides empathetic feedback to foster growth and development. Actively seeks feedback to enhance relationships with guests and Team Members alike. Encourages teamwork and collaboration, valuing diverse backgrounds and experiences. Knowledge: Understanding of guest service principles, including needs assessment and evaluation of satisfaction. Familiarity with sales promotion methods and product display techniques. Knowledge of recruiting, selection, and training processes for personnel. Experience: A minimum of three years in single-unit management within retail or food & beverage sectors is required. Familiarity with applications such as PeopleMatter, Workday, Reflexis, PDI, and ESO is a plus. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED is required. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license preferred. Food Safety and Handling Certifications are preferred; must obtain if not possessed at hire. Physical Requirements: Ability to climb ladders, clean, stock shelves, and perform price changes. Physical tasks include standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, squatting, climbing, walking, and lifting up to 55 lbs. Occasional sitting and driving; must be able to work in various weather conditions and endure fumes and cleaning agents.
