Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: This position is located at Mount Carmel East Inpatient Pharmacy Position Purpose The Certified Pharmacy Tech - Senior - Sterile Hazardous Compounding , is responsible for overseeing the daily sterile hazardous compounding operations, ensuring compliance with USP 797 and 800 standards, and support the pharmacy team in delivering safe, accurate, and timely medication preparation. This role provides leadership and mentorship to Certified Pharmacy Technicians and Trainees, and collaborates with pharmacy leadership to optimize workflow, maintain quality assurance, and uphold safety standards. What You Will Do: Establish a working identity with our Pharmacy Team and continue to build upon our culture Followingin depth,role specific training.Team responsibilities include: Preparation of sterile products (including chemotherapy and hazardous medications)using aseptic technique,in compliance with regulatory standards Preparation of non-sterile products (including hazardous medication), in compliance with regulatory standards Maintain clean room environment including daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks. Conduct environmental monitoring and cleaning of sterile compounding areas. Comply with USP 797, USP 800 and additional regulatory requirements. Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives. Support training and onboarding of new technicians in sterile compounding policy and procedures Quality assurance through environmental testing involving pharmacy colleagues compounding in the clean room and the entire IV admixture area and all hoods and/or glove boxes. Coordinates competencies in sterile compounding are completed in accordance with policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications: Education: High school graduation or equivalent Licensure / Certification: Approved Pharmacy Technician Certification. Active registration as a Certified Tech with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy. Experience: Previous experience compounding sterile products is required, including handling of chemotherapy agents and other hazardous medications. Completion of an accredited sterile compounding training program is recommended within first six months from hire date. Effective Communication Skills Aptitude in mathematical manipulations (ratios, proportions, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions). Expert knowledge of relevant USP Chapters required.
