Title: Substitute Nurse Status: Temporary/Part-time, Exempt Classification: 10-month Faculty Supervisor: Director of Auxiliary Programs Location: In-person instruction at the MSR or CPA campus Position Summary: MSR and Carolina Prep are always looking to add flexible substitute Nurses to our on-call list to provide coverage when School Nurses are absent. We are seeking reliable and hard working to support our students in Infant (six weeks) through Grade 12. Overview: Established in 1974, The Montessori School of Raleigh (MSR) & Carolina Preparatory Academy (Carolina Prep) is a vibrant and exceptional independent Montessori and International Baccalaureate (IB) World School school in the Triangle area serving 400+ students aged 15 months through 18 years. Our Montessori programs for Toddler - Upper Elementary students (15 months - grade 6) are located on our beautifully designed Lead Mine Campus, situated on 10 acres in North Raleigh, comprising five buildings in a child-centered, village-like setting surrounded by wetlands and protected forest. Our International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma programmes for Middle and High School students (grades 6 - 12) are housed on an expansive 40-acre wooded campus on our Brier Creek Campus in Durham. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide health office coverage when nurses are absent Provide on-site emergency and general care to employees and students (ages 6 weeks to 18 years) Monitor a two-way radio at all times and respond to all transmissions applicable to the health office Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications to students as needed per policy Chart care provided/medication administered in Magnus Health system Communicate illnesses, injuries, care provided, etc.. with parents and faculty/staff Other duties as assigned by the Director of Auxiliary Programs, Chief Financial & Operations Officer and Head of School All substitute nurses are expected to cooperate in promoting the best interests of the School.
