Description Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups, using a combination of standardized tests and observation methods. Create tailored treatment plans designed to meet immediate goals as well as promote long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing achievements. Engage in personalized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills. Work collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to forge integrated care approaches. Provide educational resources for patients and families to encourage progress outside of the clinical setting. Occasionally conduct inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions to ensure a seamless treatment experience. Document all patient progress accurately and promptly, adhering to state, federal, and organizational regulations. Engage in ongoing professional development and stay abreast of new methodologies in the field. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. A completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required for those who have not yet obtained ASHA certification. Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Skills Strong grasp of evidence-based practices for a wide range of speech, language, and swallowing conditions across all ages. Exceptional communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to tailor therapeutic approaches to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Sound clinical judgment and adept problem-solving capabilities. Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation processes.
