Job Description

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with strong cardiac and thoracic experience for a travel position at a Magnet-designated academic medical center in Madison, WI. Job Details • Hospital CVOR setting at a Magnet-designated, nationally recognized academic teaching and referral center, • Primary focus on cardiac and thoracic cases including CABG, ECMO, LVAD, ascending aorta, mitral valves, VATS, lung resection, lobectomy, and thoracic robotic surgery using the da Vinci Xi system, • Transplant experience is preferred but not required if all other cardiovascular competencies are met, • Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (10:40-23:10), • Travelers are the first to float and may be scheduled in multiple units or locations based on staffing needs; if the primary department no longer has a need, shifts may be reassigned to another department for the duration of the contract, Job Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of scrub experience, or equivalent relevant experience, • Strong cardiovascular, endovascular, and peripheral vascular surgical experience required, • Skills checklist must reflect ratings of 4 or higher in cardiovascular, endovascular, and peripheral vascular categories for consideration, • Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program, or 2 years of experience in a surgical technologist role may be considered in lieu of formal education, • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (required), • License required if applicable, • Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility, Additional Information • Prepare the OR prior to surgery, including sterile field setup and instrument organization, • Promote patient safety and provide direct scrub assistance to the surgeon throughout procedures, • Care for instruments, supplies, and equipment used during surgery, • Provide care to patients across all age groups, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations, • Facility is Wisconsin's #1 ranked hospital and a leading national teaching institution and referral center, • Parking on-site requires a permit through UW Transportation; bus, park and ride, and private parking options are also available,
