Geriatric Nursing Assistant- (PRN)Location: Laurel, MD, 20707 Employment Type: PRN Pay Rate: $12 - $16/hr; (Negotiable based on experience) Shift: Day | 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Position Summary: The Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) provides direct patient care and support to elderly residents under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The GNA assists residents with daily living activities, monitors their health status, and ensures a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist residents with personal care activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding. Measure and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. Maintain residents' comfort, dignity, and privacy at all times. Report any changes in residents' physical or mental condition to the supervising nurse promptly. Assist with meal preparation, serving, and feeding as needed. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided. Ensure cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and care areas. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols. Required Qualifications: Valid Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification. Current CPR/First Aid certification. Previous experience in a long-term care or assisted living facility is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
