Role: Google Apigee - Technical Architect Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Seattle, WA Job Description Must Have Technical/Functional Skills • 15+ years of IT experience with at least 5+ years in API management and integration architecture. • Strong hands-on expertise in Google Apigee (Edge, Hybrid, or X) platform setup, design, and administration. • Deep understanding of API design principles (REST, SOAP, GraphQL), microservices, and event-driven architecture. • Expertise in security standards - OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, TLS, API Keys, threat protection. • Knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure is a plus). • Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Roles & Responsibilities • Define and implement API management strategy leveraging Google Apigee (Edge/Hybrid/X). • Architect API proxies, policies, and security frameworks including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and SAML. • Lead API lifecycle management: design, governance, deployment, versioning, and retirement. • Develop and enforce API governance models, best practices, and reusable frameworks. • Collaborate with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders to design API-first integration strategies. • Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of API platforms across hybrid/multi-cloud environments. • Provide leadership and mentorship to development teams in API design, microservices integration, and CI/CD practices. • Evaluate new technologies, industry trends, and recommend improvements to API platforms. • Troubleshoot performance issues, optimize APIs, and ensure robust monitoring using tools like Apigee Analytics, Stackdriver, or equivalent. • Work with security teams to ensure compliance with enterprise security policies and regulatory standards.
