Job Title: Technical Product Owner - Payments & Banking Domain Location: Onsite - Raleigh, NC Long Term Contract -W2 / C2C Job Description: We are seeking Technical Product Owners with a solid blend of hands-on technical expertise and strong product ownership capabilities in the Banking and Payments domain. The ideal candidate will have experience in defining and delivering digital banking functionalities and payment processing solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams to define and prioritize features Translate high-level product requirements into clear technical specifications and user stories Collaborate with architects, developers, and QA to ensure technical feasibility and timely delivery Drive end-to-end product lifecycle from concept through delivery and support Lead grooming, sprint planning, and backlog refinement sessions Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards in banking/payment systems Provide domain expertise in retail/wholesale payments, ACH, wire transfers, card payments, etc. Identify and mitigate product and delivery risks in coordination with all stakeholders Required Skills & Experience: 10+ years of experience in IT with a minimum of 4+ years as a Product Owner Strong background in banking systems and payments platforms Hands-on technical experience with APIs, data flows, systems integration, or backend systems Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodology and tools like JIRA, Confluence Deep understanding of payment workflows, settlement systems, and transaction lifecycle Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making skills Nice to Have: Experience with real-time payment systems (RTP, FedNow) Familiarity with ISO 20022, SWIFT, or blockchain use cases in payments Product Owner Certification (e.g., CSPO, SAFe POPM)
