Description: Unit Notes: Candidates must reside outside a certain radius. Driver's license is required. Artificial nails are prohibited in departments providing patient care. Refusal to comply will lead to termination of contract. RN's must pass an exam during orientation. The exam is open book on skills learned and all necessary resources will be provided. A minimum score of 90% is required to pass or the candidate will be terminated. This department treats medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients. There is a charge nurse on each shift who may take an assignment. No titratable drips are provided, except for Heparin. Respiratory Therapy is available 24 hours on the floor. Telemetry is available on the floor with a centralized monitoring station. Patient care techs are present on this unit with a ratio of 1:10-12. Shifts are scheduled from 0630-1900 and 1830-0700. Weekend and holiday work may be required as needed. There is no call or standby requirement. Floating may be necessary to other departments. Scrub color is navy blue. Three shifts of unit-specific orientation will be provided. Additional time off will not be approved after submission. The hospital reserves the right to cancel shifts as needed.
