DescriptionJob Type: Full-TimeONT Airport - Welder Level ISchedule: Monday - Friday (6:00am - 2:30pm)Wage: $20/hr - $24/hrSUMMARY OVERVIEWThe Welder is responsible for executing welding operations to construct and maintain airport ground support equipment. This role demands proficiency in various welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding, and the ability to accurately interpret blueprints and technical drawings. You must ensure that all welding tasks meet high-quality standards, structural integrity, and comply with safety regulations. Additionally, you will maintain your equipment in good working condition and contribute to the team efforts in achieving production goals efficiently and safely.RESPONSIBILITIES Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and specifications? Perform various welding processes including MIG, TIG, and arc welding, selecting appropriate methods based on materials and project needs? Prepare and align metal parts to be welded, ensuring correct dimensions and alignments? Operate welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using techniques that minimize distortion and maximize strength? Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet standards, specifications, and are defect-free? Conduct tests on welds to measure characteristics such as strength and tolerance to ensure they meet quality standards? Maintain a clean and safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations? Utilize protective equipment to shield against hazards from fumes, hot metal, and noise? Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operation? Assist in the assembly process by providing expert welding support to other team members? Train and mentor junior welders and other production staff in welding techniques and safety protocols? Manage welding supplies and materials, ensuring availability and proper handling? Collaborate with the quality assurance team to discuss and resolve weld quality issues? Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications, and participating in professional organizations? Report to the welding supervisor, providing updates on project status and any issues encountered? Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards Perform any additional duties as assigned by management QUALIFICATIONS 18 years of age or older Eligible to work in the United States Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking) 2 years welding experience? Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means Pass a background check and drug screen Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable) Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential requirement satisfactorily.
