Volunteer Transportation Driver

Overview Join our team as a Volunteer Transportation Driver, where you will provide safe and reliable transportation for public school students to and from the LifeWise site. We are looking for individuals who are responsible, punctual, and possess a clean driving record. If you are passionate about making a difference in children's lives, we encourage you to apply! Qualifications and Experience A mature personal Christian faith aligned with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith Active participation in a local church with doctrine consistent with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith Valid regular driver's license (a copy may be kept on file by LifeWise) Continuously licensed for the past three years Appropriate special licenses, if required: For vehicles seating over 15 passengers: Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a (P) Passenger Endorsement For 15 passenger vans: no special license required Age requirement: 21-80 years If aged 75 or older, additional documentation is required: Van drivers must submit an annual Physician's Statement CDL drivers must submit a copy of their CDL license and (P) Passenger Endorsement annually Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic violations in the past five years. If there are any, please reach out to your Program Coach for eligibility determination. Complete and pass a background check through LifeWise Academy Drivers with known medical conditions must obtain a yearly underwriter-approved Physician's Statement Undergo required drug and/or alcohol testing, including pre-employment, annual random tests, and post-accident tests. Job Responsibilities Overview Transport children and LifeWise volunteers safely to and from the LifeWise site Obey all traffic laws Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the vehicle Conduct regular inspections of the vehicle Refuel the vehicle as needed Create a safe environment for the children, including: Enforcing safety rules Assisting students with entering and exiting the vehicle Demonstrating a calm and caring demeanor Being attentive to students needing help or exhibiting misbehavior Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom, if agreed upon with the Director LifeWise Academy adheres to EEO statements in compliance with federal and state law, allowing religious organizations to give employment preference to members of their faith.
