Role Overview The Senior Scheduler takes center stage in orchestrating project schedules of varying complexities while providing leadership within the team. You will also play a vital role in mentoring and training junior team members and operations staff, ensuring all activities align with JE Dunn's strategies and values. Autonomy & Decision-Making: Expected to make key decisions independently, with consultation as needed. Career Progression: Pathway to Planning & Scheduling Manager. Key Responsibilities Collaboratively design, build, and maintain project schedules with the project team. Conduct thorough schedule reviews to optimize scheduling best practices and communicate feedback diplomatically to the team. Engage in all stages of the scheduling process, from proposal to baseline and updated schedules. Utilize JE Dunn's scheduling software with proficiency. Assist in training initiatives for JE Dunn operations and contribute to training content development. Help develop best practices for planning and scheduling efforts at JE Dunn. Regularly visit job sites to review project status and apply insights from construction sequencing to update schedules. Contribute to meetings focused on project scheduling as required. Support Lean and Pull Planning sessions to ensure alignment with the CPM schedule. Prepare various reports as needed for projects. Collaborate with teams to incorporate resource and cost loading into schedules. Provide planning and scheduling assistance to operations, marketing, and other functions. Stay informed about market trends and external factors that could impact project schedules. Engage in business development opportunities with project teams. Additional Core Responsibilities Lead and develop planning and scheduling training programs for team members. Guide project teams in assessing construction methods, scheduling impacts, and recovery strategies. Contribute to best practice development within the planning and scheduling group. Create and maintain a library of project schedule templates for internal use. Participate in client meetings and interviews during project pursuits. Support project teams in addressing schedule issues with trade partners. Engage in job planning, post-construction reviews, and project status meetings. Mentorship and coaching of direct reports (if applicable). Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to work accurately and efficiently. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite. Strong ability to interpret plans, drawings, and specifications. Expertise in identifying schedule concerns during site visits and suggesting improvements. Solid understanding of commercial construction management practices. Familiarity with scheduling software and implementation processes. In-depth knowledge of construction project types and delivery methods. Understanding of scheduling concepts, work activity sequencing, and opportunities for improvements. Intermediate knowledge of Lean processes and philosophies. Capacity to manage change-related scheduling issues effectively. Ability to facilitate planning sessions in alignment with project needs. Able to provide constructive feedback for performance management. Skilled in importing schedules into JE Dunn's standard software. Adept at building collaborative relationships with team members. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred). Equivalent relevant experience may be considered. Experience 5+ years of planning and scheduling experience (preferred). 3+ years of experience in pharma or biopharma projects (preferred). Working Environment Valid driver's license is required. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. May require travel and/or relocation. Willingness to work non-traditional hours as needed. Standard office environment with potential exposure to extreme weather conditions. Frequent sitting and computer work is required.
