Role Overview As a Lead Safety Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in implementing our comprehensive safety program across various construction projects. In this engaging position, you will conduct safety inspections, identify potential hazards, develop thorough reports, and perform trend analyses to enhance our safety measures continuously. Autonomy & Decision-Making: Own safety decisions and provide insightful recommendations, escalating concerns to your supervisor as needed. Career Growth: This position offers a clear pathway to advance to Safety Manager. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the execution of the field safety program across various construction projects. Perform routine inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards mandated by laws and the company. Conduct safety audits to identify, document, and propose improvements for unsafe conditions. Facilitate project-specific safety orientations and enforce drug and alcohol compliance policies. Supervise the safety practices of prime contractors and subcontractors. Engage actively in pre-planning and project meetings focused on safety topics. Assist field leadership in the effective implementation of safety program elements. Support thorough investigations of accidents and work with supervisors to suggest improvements to prevent future incidents. Manage communications with injured employees and medical facilities to ensure a smooth return-to-work process. Encourage participation in site safety incentive programs. Additional Responsibilities As a Lead Safety Coordinator, you will: Utilize advanced safety expertise to identify complex safety hazards and recommend effective solutions. Apply regulatory knowledge to tailor safety recommendations for each project. Enhance communication in meetings and training workshops. Utilize safety management systems to conduct trend analyses and propose proactive solutions. Educate team members on critical safety topics to improve overall project performance. Assist safety leadership in preparing for insurance audits and assessments. Oversee complex projects, managing multiple sites or significant undertakings. Design and implement training strategies to elevate team safety knowledge and skills. Evaluate training needs and develop innovative training programs. Conduct engaging training sessions while maintaining thorough documentation of training records. Qualifications Strong attention to detail with a proven track record of completing work accurately and on time. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications. Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations at the federal, state, local, and company levels. Advanced knowledge of safety software and process management. Strong ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective actions. Ability to build effective relationships across teams and organizations. Thorough understanding of environmental hazard testing protocols. Intermediate knowledge of construction technology. Adept at collaborative work both internally and externally. Education Bachelor's degree in a safety and health-related field is preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the preferred education. Experience At least 5 years of experience in construction safety is required.
