Digital Communications Coordinator Job Number: 25459 Functional Area: Museum Department: Museum School Area: Associate Provost for the Arts Pay Range Minimum: $62,000 Pay Range Maximum: $79,200 Employment Type: Full-Time Employment Category: Exempt Visa Sponsorship Available: No Schedule: M - F Pay Grade: 6 Email a Friend Save Save Apply Now Posting Description DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR, MIT Museum, develops, re-purposes, and manages content and imagery to be delivered digitally through a variety of platforms; serves as the in-house expert providing advice and guidance related to such content and their delivery systems in support of marketing and communications objectives, with the goal of audience growth through global outreach and engagement; serves as a digital media strategist for the Museum with responsibility for social media and website updates, and oversight for Customer Relationship Module (CRM) and communications area within the Digital Assets Management System (DAMS); maintains an editorial calendar and develops compelling text and visual content (e.g. writing, photography, new short videos) to promote the Museum's short- and long-term initiatives, including events, programs, exhibitions, collections and income-generating daily activities; and stays abreast of current events, trending topics, MIT news and announcements, and other chances to join the greater online conversation with relevant content. Job Requirements REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in a related field; a minimum of one year of related experience in the field of digital communications with demonstrated experience handling business or institutional communications; excellent communication skills and skillful copy-editing abilities, including the ability to draft effective text for use with key target audiences; proven ability to maintain an active presence in social media; training in Adobe Creative Suite or demonstrated expertise in Adobe products: Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Piction, and a comprehensive working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and HTML, CSS and current social media platforms and their publishing interfaces; PREFERRED: Working knowledge of Hubspot, Ticketure, Google Analytics, and AirTable. PREFERRED: A basic understanding and passion for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) related topics an advantage.
