Responsibilities The Computational Mathematics group is eager to invite applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Mathematics. In this role, you will: Innovate new methodologies for analyzing complex graphs, hypergraphs, and combinatorial structures. Utilize probabilistic techniques to design and evaluate randomized graph algorithms. Develop graph-based strategies that contribute to scientific machine learning initiatives. Enhance high-performance numerical algorithms suited for large-scale scientific computations. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of applied mathematicians, computational specialists, and experimental scientists at PNNL. Publish your findings in esteemed peer-reviewed journals. Present your research at conferences and project meetings to highlight your work. Engage in crafting research proposals to secure funding for new projects. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Must have obtained a PhD within the last five years or will receive one in the next eight months from an accredited institution. Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. Strong knowledge of discrete mathematics, graph theory, or network science. Solid background in probability and linear algebra, particularly related to randomized algorithms. Experience in applying advanced graph-theoretic methods to real-world challenges. Familiarity with Graph Neural Networks and their practical applications. Proven track record of preparing manuscripts for scientific journals successfully. Proficiency in developing scientific software solutions.
