Must be wound certified. This position is Monday through Friday. Must be available to be on call one weekend a month. May have to work on the floor/cart in the event of a call in or staff challenged. We offer Daily Pay!!Job Summary The Primary Purpose of The Certified Wound Care Nurse is being responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating wound care for residents in accordance with state and federal regulations, evidence-based practice, and facility policies. This nurse serves as the facility's clinical resource for wound prevention and treatment, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, and ensures documentation and care practices support optimal healing and regulatory compliance. in addiiton to, providing quality nursing care to the residents and to supervise the day-to-day nursing functions performed by the Nursing Assistants. Responsibilities as the Wound Nurse: Wound Assessment & Treatment - Perform comprehensive skin and wound assessments upon admission, weekly, and as needed. - Stage pressure injuries accurately per NPIAP guidelines. - Assist with the MD in developing individualized wound care plans using evidence-based treatment protocols. - Perform and oversee wound cleansing, dressing changes, and advanced therapies. - Evaluate wound progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. Wound rounds with the facily wound Dr. are once every week. - Ensure implementation of preventive interventions (turning schedules, off-loading, moisture management, nutrition referrals). Collaboration & Communication - Work closely with providers, therapy, dietitians, and nursing leadership. - Communicate wound status and changes promptly to physicians and families. - Coordinate care with external wound specialists or consultants. - Document wound assessments, measurements, progress notes, and treatment changes in the EMAR. Responsibiities as the Unit Manager/ Supervisor Working closely with the Nursing Managemnt Team Available Monday through Friday Available to be on call one weekend per month Overseeing assigned Unit Assisting the floor Nurses and CNA's when needed Assist in the Admission/Discharge process Complete accident/incident reports, follow up investigation process Transcribe Physician orders, document all resident information as necessary, notifying physician and family as needed. Review medication orders for completeness of information and accuracy Be willing to learn Electronic Medical Record system and be flexible to change as needed Prepare and administer medication as ordered by the physician Be familiar with the Care Planning Process and participate in Care conferences, updating as needed Develop and maintain a good working rapport with all disciplines to ensure that all aspects of resident needs can be adequately maintained Be willing to participate in continuing education programs Must be currently Licensed to practice as an RN in this state Should be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public Required licenses or certifications: Registered Nursing License
