Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in hospice care to join a supportive healthcare team focused on delivering exceptional end-of-life services. This role involves providing patient-centered care either in home settings or hospice facilities, ensuring comfort, dignity, and quality of life for patients and their families throughout the hospice journey. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive assessments addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients. Conduct initial physical evaluations and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Administer medications and manage symptoms following established protocols. Educate and support patients and families on end-of-life care options and resources. Coordinate services and maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities. Communicate changes in patient condition to the interdisciplinary group and primary providers. Perform venipuncture or collect lab specimens as ordered by physicians. Education and Licensure Graduation from an accredited nursing program and current licensure as a Registered Nurse eligible to practice in the Midwest region is required. Experience and Training Previous experience in hospice, palliative, or critical care settings is preferred. Candidates must be current in Basic Life Support (BLS) certification according to American Heart Association standards and complete hospice philosophy training. Completion of a Mandatory Reporter course is required within six months of hire. Skills and Abilities Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential for effective collaboration and patient education. Basic computer proficiency and the ability to perform simple mathematical calculations are necessary to fulfill job functions. This position offers PRN hours during evenings and nights, providing flexibility within a warm and supportive environment dedicated to compassionate end-of-life care in the Northern Plains region.
