Job Purpose: The Senior Principal Equipment Systems Engineer will spearhead critical projects focusing on improving machine efficiency and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) within the Lens Care Solutions manufacturing team. In this role, you'll implement engineering projects aimed at reducing costs, enhancing quality, and addressing obsolescence issues. You'll also be responsible for ensuring the daily operational excellence of process equipment at our manufacturing site. Key Responsibilities: Act as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME), leading improvement initiatives while supporting the operation of packaging line equipment including cartoners, bundlers, and robotics. Diagnose complex manufacturing issues and implement technical solutions to enhance performance and reduce costs. Collaborate cross-functionally to align improvements with site priorities and provide ongoing technical support and training for new equipment and processes. Drive engineering projects to minimize waste, enhance process reliability, and improve quality. Develop and employ data acquisition techniques to analyze critical metrics for optimizing product cost, quality, and manufacturing reliability using operational data and performance metrics. Oversee engineering project management, including defining scope, resource planning, and budget management. Regularly communicate project milestones to relevant stakeholders. Keep management informed about developments that may impact profitability, timelines, costs, and inter-departmental relationships. Stay updated on technological advancements that could benefit operations, offering proactive recommendations for improvements in processes aimed at enhancing cost, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction. Qualifications: Education: BS or MS in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering. Advanced degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of 10 years in Pharmaceutical or Medical Device manufacturing engineering with a focus on Process & Packaging Equipment Design, process improvements, and GMP CapEx execution. Lean 6-Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent is required; PMP certification is a plus. Skills: Demonstrated experience in manufacturing process and packaging equipment design improvements in a GMP setting. Strong technical leadership with a capability to define clear objectives and collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams to address complex challenges successfully. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving aptitude, proficient in Process Excellence, Lean tools, and Design for Six Sigma methodologies. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while effectively navigating across organizational boundaries. Excellent communication skills with the proficiency to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Strong teamwork and negotiation abilities, demonstrating influence without direct authority. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Project and Visio, with working knowledge of CAD software, such as SolidWorks and GD&T concepts.
