Position Title Principal Enterprise Architect (Architecture Governance & Portfolio Management) Job Summary Join Camping World as a Principal Architect, a key player in transforming our technology landscape to align IT initiatives seamlessly with business goals. This dynamic role will involve spearheading architecture governance, portfolio management, and strategic support for the Enterprise Architecture (EA) practice. You will manage both the Application and Technology portfolios and act as a proactive business process manager. Your leadership will guide the Architecture Review Board (ARB), driving impactful architectural insights into tangible business outcomes. Key Responsibilities Architecture Governance Leadership Lead and oversee all EA governance bodies such as the Architecture Review Board (ARB) and Software Governance Committee (SGC), ensuring robust operational management. Enhance existing governance processes, measure performance, and recommend improvements to bolster accountability and compliance across all forums. Execute the Technology Decision Record (TDR) framework, ensuring decisions are documented, communicated, and adhered to by delivery teams. Identify and manage architectural risks, monitoring technology obsolescence and compliance challenges arising from governance activities. Business Process Management & Architecture Develop and refine enterprise business capability maps, value streams, and comprehensive business process models. Maintain a clear enterprise taxonomy and a business-to-technology mapping system to inform and enhance solution architecture. Ensure business processes align with application capabilities and enterprise standards to drive efficiency. Moderate process modeling sessions that engage business leaders and technical teams to ensure architectural clarity and validate assumptions. Application and Technology Portfolio Management (APM/TPM) Lead the management and strategic oversight of Application Portfolio Management (APM) and Technology Portfolio Management (TPM), focusing on lifecycle tracking and health assessment. Ensure portfolio data is accurate, reflecting integrations, dependencies, risks, and lifecycle stages. Provide analysis and recommendations to guide investment decisions and modernization strategies. Create enterprise-quality data flow diagrams and integration maps using tools like Figma and Confluence. Solutions Architecture & Design Design and develop scalable IT solutions that meet industry standards while aligning with business requirements. Lead the creation of solution architectures that adhere to established standards and leverage cutting-edge technologies. Conduct thorough evaluations of existing systems to identify enhancements that improve performance and security. EA Practice Support Support the VP of Enterprise Architecture in the strategy and execution of IT initiatives that align with enterprise objectives. Champion continuous improvement in architecture practices and methodologies. Maintain an organized repository of process models, capability maps, and architectural standards. Cross-Functional Alignment and Facilitation Foster alignment among business, engineering, and IT teams to ensure adherence to governance practices. Lead workshops and forums that drive architectural clarity and promote efficient process reuse. Track meeting outcomes to ensure commitments are realized within the EA pipeline. Risk, Compliance, and Audit Readiness Keep up-to-date documentation for governance decisions and compliance elements. Identify and manage risks related to technology integration and compliance within architectural practices. Provide executives with visibility regarding technology and process risks. Reporting, Metrics, and Executive Insights Create dashboards and reports that depict portfolio health, governance metrics, and risk assessments. Offer insights linking architectural decisions to broader business outcomes and operational successes. Highlight opportunities for modernization and areas necessitating strategic focus. Qualifications 10+ years in Information Technology, with a minimum of 5 years in business architecture or governance roles. Strong grasp of Enterprise Architecture principles and governance frameworks. 5 years of experience in IT governance, risk management, and proven leadership in relevant governance bodies. Proficient in Application Portfolio Management (APM) and Technology Portfolio Management (TPM). Expertise in business modeling techniques and process architecture. Experience in implementing Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC) and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes. Exceptional skills in producing diagrams and documentation with tools such as Figma or Confluence. Strong analytical and program management capabilities to coordinate complex workflows. Excellent communication skills to translate architectural insights into business impact. Familiarity with multi-cloud platforms and modern application architectures. Depth of understanding in Architecture Domains and hands-on software development experience preferred. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
