Job Description As a Pharmacy Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all pharmacy practices in compliance with state and federal regulations and corporate policies. Your goal will be to enhance the financial performance of the pharmacy department through effective budget management, minimizing unauthorized overtime, training pharmacy staff, delivering exceptional customer service, managing prescription pricing, optimizing generic utilization, overseeing inventory control, and implementing corporate-approved clinical services. ResponsibilitiesPerform the duties of a staff pharmacist and serve as a role model for the pharmacy team; efficiently manage customer inquiries and workflow to reduce wait times. Develop, implement, and promote the sales strategy and initiatives established by the pharmacy division. Fulfill the responsibilities expected of a registered pharmacist in compliance with legal and company standards. Lead the pharmacy team to meet inventory goals, minimize overstock, manage fill-on-arrival prescriptions, and ensure proper training in ordering procedures. Adhere to corporate procedures regarding controlled substances. Monitor the profitability of third-party insurances; address rejections or audits promptly. Organize the pharmacy staff schedule to help control labor costs. Maintain all pharmacy records in accordance with legal and corporate guidelines. Drive the pharmacy to achieve budgetary targets for labor, volume, inventory, and sales. Engage local physicians and community stakeholders for effective detailing. Promote and participate in public health initiatives and disease management services. Travel independently as required to meet business needs. Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff; conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback. Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment. Manage conflicts in a calm and cooperative manner. Act with integrity regarding customer and business information. Follow instructions and seek assistance when faced with challenges in resolving customer issues. Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults. Be capable of performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. QualificationsMinimum Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) from an accredited institution. Two or more years of related retail pharmacy experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be at least 21 years old. A valid pharmacy license in good standing. Demonstrated leadership abilities. Competence in reading and interpreting prescriptions and documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Commitment to outstanding customer service. Capacity to maintain confidentiality. Willingness to engage in continuing education as needed. Participation in clinical programs after company-sponsored training. Desired Relevant pharmacy board certifications. Experience or education in business management.
