Summary: Join Meta's Edge & Network Service team, where you will play a crucial role in tackling the unique challenges and opportunities in our mission to connect the world. As part of the execution team, you will be responsible for the operations and support of production networks (Edge, Backbone, and Labs) as well as our global Content Delivery Network. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge network technologies and collaborate with talented engineers to solve some of the industry's most complex problems. Key Responsibilities: Incident Response: Investigate technical and process issues globally, spanning reliability, security, and continuity during major incidents across thousands of location infrastructures, including edge and caching networks. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and third-party vendor partners. Escalation Management: Engage in the global team's Tier 3 and 4 on-call rotation, aiming to improve processes or tooling and automate solutions to minimize future escalations. Risk Management and Assurance: Collaborate with internal and upstream partner teams to ensure that design, build, and operations adhere to reliability, security, privacy, and regulatory standards. Information and Data Assurance: Manage relevant operational documentation, ensuring that the data supporting operations is accurate and complete. Automation: Drive the identification of new automation opportunities to remediate network faults through software. Collaborate with team members to understand requirements and influence roadmaps. Data Measurement: Focus on improving metrics related to escalation issues, fault trends, infrastructure capacity, and vendor performance to ensure quality support for our network operations. Operational Leadership: Lead efforts to enhance all operational aspects, indirectly managing a contingent workforce responsible for project delivery and routine activities to ensure compliance with established standards and policies. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Knowledge of optical network technologies such as DWDM, ROADM, and RLS in troubleshooting scenarios, with professional experience in Ciena and Nokia or equivalent. At least 7 years of experience in global network operations, including deployment, design/engineering, and support. Minimum of 7 years of experience working with vendors to enhance performance and develop improvement plans across various technical platforms. Experience identifying key business metrics for evaluating program success and impact. Proficiency in end-to-end supplier management, including RFPs and contract negotiations. Demonstrated experience collaborating effectively across a global team and with cross-functional partners. Track record of prioritizing tasks and driving larger strategic goals forward. Preferred Qualifications: 5 years of experience in troubleshooting and physical repair of network infrastructure, understanding cable types, connectors, and facility infrastructure. Experience in executing digital transformation initiatives at a practitioner level. Basic knowledge of applying data analysis and leveraging technologies like machine learning for complex problem-solving. Familiarity with coding and automating in languages such as Python, Go, or JavaScript. Compensation: $135,000/year to $191,000/year plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
